INVI is looking for an analysis intern for fall 2026
Would you like to help tackle society's wicked with AI, language models, creative data visualizations, and analytics?
We are looking for interns with a particular interest in analytics and data science who want to be part of a sharp, interdisciplinary team at INVI that develops digital, AI-driven tools and uses them in innovative analyses of some of society's biggest problems and conflicts.
Data expert with curiosity about AI tools and social analysis
INVI has developed the world's first Model for wicked – an analytical framework that uses large language models to understand and measure some of the biggest societal problems we face today. As a foundation for our analyses, we have also developed Involve – a dynamic mobile and web app that rethinks the collection of data from citizens, professionals, and experts via audio, images, and text with integrated AI technology.
The toolbox has already generated new insights across government, industry, civil society, and foundations, including in projects for the Bikuben Foundation, the Ministry of Senior Citizens, the Danish Cancer Society, the Danish Architects' Association, STAR, and the Danish Parliament's Committee on Digitalization and IT. However, the possibilities offered by AI-based techniques are evolving daily. That is why we are looking for interns for INVI's analysis team, who will be at the forefront when we use AI in policy development and ambitious change projects.
We are looking for interns who are interested in working with data and analysis at the intersection of data science, humanities/social sciences, and design. Perhaps you are a skilled programmer who dreams of helping to develop the Model for wicked or the Involve app using AI and large language models, or maybe you are a sharp sociologist or ethnographer who wants to help apply the tools in practice to deliver social science analyses, or a curious designer who wants to work with information design and data visualization or UX/UI in our tools.
Your profile may be relevant in various ways, for example if you:
Can work with data in Python, have other programming skills, or want to work with language models, NLP experiments, or further development of INVI's digital tools.
Strong at visualizing and communicating data-driven projects and wants to help develop new ways of presenting data on complex issues and social conflicts.
Is a skilled UX/UI designer and wants to create democratic innovation through new interactive formats for involvement in Involve or Model for wicked .
You are skilled in qualitative or anthropological methods and will help us integrate an ethnographic lens when working with large-scale qualitative data via Involve.
You are socially and politically savvy and want to find meaning in large amounts of data and use data-based approaches to work with society's most pressing problems and bring about political change.
You may also have a completely different profile with knowledge and skills that we have not yet considered, but which could strengthen our analyses.
It is an advantage if you can work with both quantitative and qualitative data and if you can think through a data project from start to finish: from collection to processing and cleaning of data and on to analysis, visualization, and interpretation in a societal context.
What you get out of an internship at INVI
As an intern in INVI's analysis team, you will be an important part of a team with a range of professional expertise. We work closely together every day to produce the most accurate analyses, drawing on input from each of our areas of expertise. You will be part of the analysis team on an equal footing with the rest of us and will have the opportunity to take responsibility for your own tasks, and we guarantee close, daily sparring and learning. The team, led by Head of Analysis and Research Sofie Burgos-Thorsen, works daily with the other teams at INVI and collaborates externally with research and development profiles in Denmark and abroad. We offer an unpredictable semester – and we guarantee that it will not be boring.
In addition, you will become part of a new think tank where you will have a lot of influence on your everyday life and where there are high expectations for your work performance and development. You will be interning in a fast-paced organization with high ceilings and a strong social community. At INVI, we are one united team where everyone contributes both professionally and socially.
About you
We expect you to be enrolled in a relevant higher education program. Perhaps you are studying social sciences, data science, engineering, techno-anthropology, or humanities with an understanding of technology and data. You may also be enrolled in a vocational or professional bachelor's program such as UX/UI design or journalism. That's not so important. What matters is that you are passionate about developing creative analyses and data-driven tools and stories, and want to use your skills to tackle society's wicked .
You need to thrive in an environment where there are many unknowns. That's why independence and creative thinking are important, and being structured and detail-oriented is an advantage.
Course of events
The internship will run from August 15, 2026, to January 15, 2027, but we will try to be flexible regarding the start date and length of your internship to suit you and your educational institution.
The internship is unpaid, but there is the possibility of receiving a stipend in accordance with the rules on wages and SU (student grants): here.

Who is INVI and what is our mission?
We have always been good at solving social problems in Denmark. That is why we are in the super league of prosperity. But as many have noticed, we are no longer achieving the same results. We debate, we work, we stress, we set up commissions and expert groups. But often, the big social changes fail to materialize.
This is not because we have become worse at solving problems. It is because the problems we face are cross-border and intractable. Just think of climate change, dissatisfaction, or the shortage of workers in the labor market. These are wicked , and they require new approaches.
At the INVI think tank, we develop visions and tools so that everyone working with wicked has more strings to their bow. Together with practitioners and experts, we contribute to rethinking how we design and roll out policy. We test methods and models and are not bound by party politics, bureaucratic battles, or commercial interests.
We have sky-high ambitions and lots of exciting projects in the pipeline. As an intern, you will have ample opportunity to put your professional skills to use, regardless of whether you are studying political science, design, anthropology, business economics, communication, or something else entirely.
