INVI is looking for a policy intern for fall 2026
Would you like to help tackle society's wicked ?
We are looking for interns with deep professional skills and broad social interest who want to help develop new visions and tools for society's wicked problems.
We have always been good at solving social problems in Denmark. That's why we are in the super league of prosperity. But as many have noticed, we no longer achieve the same results. We debate, we work, we stress, we set up commissions and expert groups. But often the big changes in society fail to materialize.
This is not because we have become worse at solving problems. It's because the problems we face are cross-border and intractable. Just think of climate change, unhappiness or the lack of hands in the labor market. They are wicked problems, and they require new approaches.
At the think tank INVI, we develop visions and tools to give everyone working on wicked problems more strings to pull. Together with practitioners and experts, we help rethink how we design and roll out policy. We test methods and models and are not bound by party politics, bureaucratic battles or commercial interests.
We have sky-high ambitions and lots of exciting projects in the pipeline. As an intern, you will have ample opportunity to put your professional skills to use, regardless of whether you are studying political science, design, anthropology, business economics, communication, or something else entirely.
About the position:
At the INVI Think Tank, we work at the intersection of theory and practice. We are developing Denmark's first model for societal complexity and we collaborate with practitioners on the frontline.
Therefore, there are many opportunities to participate in exciting assignments that provide experience and networks that you can use in your future career.
Policy intern
As an intern, you will be involved in a number of exciting, concrete projects that INVI has with various partners, particularly public authorities. This may involve assisting a ministry with the implementation of a reform or otherwise involving practitioners in the political process. Specifically, you will help define the framework for the collaborations, collect and quality-assure data, and present the results of the collaboration. This places high demands on your expertise and professional approach to tasks.
We have many exciting initiatives underway at INVI, which means that your day-to-day work will involve a wide variety of tasks. In addition to working on specific projects, you will be involved in event planning, preparing analyses and memos, desk research, workshop development and facilitation, and preparing various presentations.
You will gain insight into collaboration with stakeholders—everything from politicians, stakeholders, fund managers, and media personalities—and how the political system works in practice.
We place particular emphasis on your ability to analyze and translate large amounts of complex information into easily understandable language in the form of notes, PowerPoint presentations, etc. You must be willing to take on difficult tasks that require a lot of thought, as well as lend a hand when coffee needs to be made. We are a start-up where everyone helps each other. We promise that you will be challenged professionally and will learn a great deal that will be extremely useful in your future career.
We expect you to be enrolled in a relevant higher education program.
You need to thrive in an environment where there are many unknowns. That's why independence and creative thinking are important, and being structured and detail-oriented is an advantage.
