INVI is looking for a social studies student
We are looking for a student assistant with deep expertise and broad social interests who wants to help develop new visions and tools for society's wicked .
We have always been good at solving social problems in Denmark. That's why we are in the super league of prosperity. But as many have noticed, we no longer achieve the same results. We debate, we work, we stress, we set up commissions and expert groups. But often the big changes in society fail to materialize.
This is not because we have become worse at solving problems. It's because the problems we face are cross-border and intractable. Just think of climate change, unhappiness or the lack of hands in the labor market. They are wicked problems, and they require new approaches.
At the think tank INVI, we develop visions and tools to give everyone working on wicked problems more strings to pull. Together with practitioners and experts, we help rethink how we design and roll out policy. We test methods and models and are not bound by party politics, bureaucratic battles or commercial interests.
We have sky-high ambitions and lots of exciting projects in the pipeline. As a student assistant, you will have ample opportunity to put your professional skills to use.
About the position:
As a student assistant at INVI, you will be involved in a number of exciting, concrete projects. This may involve assisting a ministry with the implementation of a reform or otherwise involving practitioners in the political process. This places high demands on your expertise and professional approach to tasks.
Your daily work will involve a wide range of tasks, including:
Analysis and research
Planning projects and processes
Written communication in the form of notes, analyses, and background briefs
Oral communication and presentations
Supporting the development of new policy formats
You'll gain insight into stakeholder collaboration and how the political system works and operates in practice.
In addition to being enrolled in a relevant higher education program in social sciences, we place particular emphasis on you
Skilled at analyzing and translating large amounts of complex information into easily understandable language in the form of notes, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
Have the courage to take on difficult tasks that require a lot of thought
Lending a hand. We are a start-up where everyone helps each other—even when it comes to making coffee or tidying up.
You must thrive in an environment where there are many unfamiliar people. Therefore, independence and creative thinking are important qualities, and it is an advantage if you are structured and have an eye for detail. In return, we promise that you will be challenged professionally and will learn a great deal that will be extremely useful in your future working life.
We are located in newly renovated premises at Gammel Strand in central Copenhagen and offer a delicious vegetarian lunch plan. You will be part of a young and interdisciplinary team with a strong social community, which includes occasional Friday bars, summer parties, Christmas dinners, and study trips.
