INVI is looking for an innovation and teaching intern for spring 2026
We are looking for interns with deep professional skills and broad social interest who want to help develop new visions and tools for society's wicked problems.
We have always been good at solving social problems in Denmark. That's why we are in the super league of prosperity. But as many have noticed, we no longer achieve the same results. We debate, we work, we stress, we set up commissions and expert groups. But often the big changes in society fail to materialize.
This is not because we have become worse at solving problems. It's because the problems we face are cross-border and intractable. Just think of climate change, unhappiness or the lack of hands in the labor market. They are wicked problems, and they require new approaches.
At the think tank INVI, we develop visions and tools to give everyone working on wicked problems more strings to pull. Together with practitioners and experts, we help rethink how we design and roll out policy. We test methods and models and are not bound by party politics, bureaucratic battles or commercial interests.
About the position:
At the INVI Think Tank, we work at the intersection of theory and practice. We are developing Denmark's first model for societal complexity and we collaborate with practitioners on the frontline.
Therefore, there are many opportunities to participate in exciting assignments that provide experience and networks that you can use in your future career.
Innovation and teaching intern
As an innovation and education intern, you will help develop the toolkit for the wicked problems of the 21st century. You'll be involved in the development of innovative formats, training and workshops. wicked problems cannot be tackled by a single organization or a single department. That's why they are wicked. For this reason, wicked problems require collaboration across classic organizational and disciplinary boundaries. As an innovation and teaching intern, you must have the courage to think in innovative collaboration models and look across classic organizational and professional boundaries.
We have many exciting innovation projects going on at INVI. A key task for you will be to support and help run INVI's courses, where students from the civil service, municipalities, civil society organizations and foundations meet and work on specific wicked problems. This includes supporting the development of course programs and courses, didactics, presentations and exercises. You also have the opportunity to put your expertise into play in the further development of INVI's tools for dealing with wicked problems - for example in the development of digital interactive tools or workshop formats.
You'll get a broad insight into what's happening in relation to the biggest societal challenges in Denmark. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to meet exciting people across the political system - people from commissions, municipalities, and innovative frontrunner efforts from all over the country. You will also gain insight into best-practice policy tools from around the world for working innovatively with wicked problems.
We expect you to attend a relevant higher education program. For example, it could be within:
Political science, public administration, politics and administration
Learning, behavior and change processes
Design, innovation and process facilitation (e.g. Kaospilot, Design & Innovation, Social Entrepreneurship and Management)
Digital solutions and interaction design (e.g. Digital Innovation and Management)
Organizational development, management and institutional design
We adapt your tasks to your professional skills, but you must have the courage to both throw yourself into difficult and openly defined tasks and also lend a hand with low-practical tasks. We are a start-up where everyone helps each other.
You need to thrive in an environment where there are many unknowns. Therefore, a high level of reflection and creative thinking are important attributes.
It's an advantage if you can turn your perfectionism up and down as appropriate - e.g. make quick, imperfect drafts early in a process, but have an eye for detail before sending it out externally. It's also an advantage if you're good at prioritizing and cutting, have knowledge of the political system, and can boil complex material down to understandable exercises, text, slides and tools. We promise that you will be challenged in your professionalism and will learn a lot that will be extremely useful in your future working life.
