NEW: Specialization in
modular co-creation
- Become a specialist in tackling solution ambiguity in wild problems
Are you and your organization facing wild problems where you don't know the solutions? Big societal problems that many have struggled with for years without getting a grip on them? Then become a specialist in modular co-creation. Experts Jacob Torfing and Eva Sørensen, together with INVI's team, will teach you how to design and lead co-creation processes that develop and roll out innovative solution modules that are both adaptable to local contexts and scalable.
Dealing with wildlife issues requires different solutions than the ones we typically resort to. Take the local Green Tripartite: When local actors need to collaborate on land conversion that addresses climate change, biodiversity, local recreational opportunities and production considerations, standard solutions are rarely applicable. Each local area has unique needs, actors, opportunities and landscape. At the same time, methods and learning across the country are needed to achieve the necessary scale.
Wild problems are too big for any one department, organization or discipline to solve. Instead, we need to go into the lab and explore, develop and test solution elements - together and across organizations, implementation stages and disciplines. Instead of rolling out a chrome-plated solution all at once, initiatives need to be continuously pressure-tested and adjusted. But how do we do this without wasting resources on reinventing the wheel in every neighborhood or for every individual? How do we transfer experiences across initiatives and make it easier to build an initiative?
In INVI's modular co-creation specialization, you will learn to co-create modules that can be transferred to other contexts and combined in different ways to match the complexity of the problem and local differences. All based on practical experience and the latest research.
This is the first specialization in modular co-creation from INVI. Here we go in-depth with one of the 4 toolboxes in INVI's Atlas for Wild Problems. Are you curious about all 4 toolboxes? Then read more about our Wild Problems Masterclass for Policy Entrepreneurs here.
Yields
An in-depth understanding of how modular co-creation can help tackle wild problems.
Insights into complex modular co-creation processes, their different phases, the challenges you will face along the way, as well as the levers and tools that can drive progress.
Competencies to design and lead modular co-creation processes to contribute to effective and democratic governance.
Tools on how to avoid the dark side of the co-creation process.
Testing your ability to tackle dilemmas that arise in local co-creation of solution modules together with others.
A strong network from different sectors working on wild problems and using modular co-creation to create innovative solutions.
Target group
This specialization is for those who are familiar with co-creation as a problem-solving method but want to go deeper. You can be a project manager, development consultant, program manager or something completely different, and come from the civil service in the state, regions or municipalities, a political party, an interest organization, an NGO, the foundation world or a private company. Perhaps you are helping to realize transformation plans in a local tripartite, or you work with developing and scaling social initiatives. The specialization is relevant both for those who have taken the Masterclass in Wild Problems for Policy Entrepreneurs and for those who have not.
Most importantly, you want to develop a strategic and practical ability to orchestrate and lead co-creation processes - and be open to sharing learning, frustrations and successes with others on the team.
In cases and examples, we will have a consistent focus on co-creation of green solutions, and we will be visited by guests from The Green Tripartite. The course is therefore ideal for those who are part of one of the local tripartite organizations - but it will be highly relevant for anyone working with developing and scaling solutions to wild problems.

Thursday, October 9th. 9:00-17:00
Wild problems like climate change or loneliness cannot be solved with standard solutions or by single actors alone. Modular co-creation offers a new approach where solutions are developed in interaction between different actors and built up from flexible modules that can be adapted to local conditions. In this first module, you'll get a thorough introduction to the concept and its application in practice. This module gives you concrete insights into how to design co-creation processes that produce modular solutions that can be reused and adapted across contexts:How do you identify and characterize wild problems that require modular co-creation?
How do you put together the right stakeholders across sectors to co-create solution modules?
How do you design and implement a modular co-creation process?
-
Friday, October 10th. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Solutions to wild problems require local actors to develop and adapt solutions to local conditions and the complexity of the problem. At the same time, we don't have the resources to reinvent the wheel every time. How can modular co-creation be used strategically to create solutions that are both democratically and practically rooted and can be scaled effectively? We play 'The CO GOV GAME ' - a game developed especially for this purpose by the trainers, where you navigate through the difficult choices and dilemmas together. This module gives you concrete insights into how to secure the many possible benefits of co-creating modules:
How do you use modular co-creation processes to foster democratic renewal and interactive political leadership?
How do you ensure both local democratic support and cross-scaling of solutions?
How do you navigate the resource and political dilemmas of co-creating modules?
-
Thursday, October 23rd. 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Some processes sit on the backbone of your organization. Other paths lie untrodden and require a lot of work to get started. How do you create an infrastructure that makes it easy to develop and roll out solution modules in practice? In this final module, you will get concrete tools to successfully anchor modular co-creation. You will hear experiences across a multitude of projects within the green transition and experiences from the Green Triangle. You will learn how to navigate the dilemmas and challenges that arise when solution modules need to work in different local contexts:
How can you create a modular co-creation infrastructure to make it easy to develop and deploy solution modules?
How can you learn how to succeed, based on experiences from a wealth of cases?
How do you handle the dilemmas that arise in co-creating solution modules?
Price: DKK 14,900 excl. VAT
The price includes a light breakfast and hearty lunch during all modules, a compendium and a notebook.
