Senior Communications Advisor with a flair for politics and society
The Institute for wicked Problems (INVI) is looking for an experienced communications advisor who has worked in public affairs, can see the big picture - and make it happen. We're looking for someone who understands politics, media and the mechanisms of power - and who wants to use their skills to make inroads into the problems that don't fit into any ministerial box.
INVI is a think tank that develops new solutions to the most complex challenges of our time. We work across sectors and systems - from climate crisis and malaise to responsible AI and future welfare - bridging research, policy and practice.
In recent years, INVI has grown from one idea and one person to an interdisciplinary team of 22 - from data scientists and designers to journalists, engineers and political scientists. We've grown out of our first office and up through three floors of Den Gule Gård - and with us has come a portfolio of projects, partnerships and methodologies that provide new answers to society's most intractable problems.
Now we want to strengthen our communication team with an experienced communicator to ensure that the tools and methods developed in the Think Tank are put to use - in politics, in practice and in the public.
You'll help bridge the gap between change, research and communication. In short: juggling the wicked problems into the political intersection - and making complex knowledge move reality.
Sound like you? Read on.
YOUR ROLE
As a Senior Communications Advisor, you will be a key player in our multi-disciplinary communications work.
You will work closely with INVI's Head of Communications to execute our strategy, support INVI's CEO and play a special role in strengthening our voice in the public debate.
You will, among other things:
Drive INVI's public affairs work - from research and presentations to opinion pieces, press stories and collaborations that strengthen our social impact.
Spot and disseminate stories from INVI's projects, analysis and partnerships - bringing them to life in media, networks and politics.
Write and edit newsletters (4,500+ subscribers) and content for our social media (29,000+ followers).
Develop and execute communication plans for selected projects in close collaboration with colleagues and partners.
Build INVI's relationships with journalists, experts and decision makers and help develop the next layer of our public affairs platform.
Further develop our spokesperson setup with ideas for formats, concepts and training that bring more voices into play.
Contribute to the development of INVI.nu and ensure a sharp interplay between content, design and tone.
Sparring and collaborating with the team's student employees and interns - and helping to develop our shared practice.
In a nutshell: You think strategically, act independently and thrive in an environment where pace, trust and professionalism go hand in hand.
YOUR TEAM
You'll be part of INVI's communication team, working closely together across projects and formats - from press and public affairs to the KOMPAS podcast and our digital channels.
The team consists of the Head of Communications, a podcast editorial team and our star-studded intern and student team, and we work closely with the rest of INVI - from analysts and project managers to designers and management.
In a nutshell: The team is small, but the communication muscles are big. The path from idea to impact is short - and everyone contributes to our success.
Your daily and professional leader will be Tine Maria Borresø, Head of Communications and overall responsible for INVI's overall communication. You will also work closely with Director Sigge Winther Nielsen on strategic priorities and report formally to Head of Secretariat Janne Bram Hemphrey, who has overall responsibility for the organization's operations and staff.
YOUR PROFILE
You have solid experience and political acumen. You can translate complex agendas into meaningful communication - without making them trite.
You can think strategically, but thrive in an environment where plans quickly turn into action - and where both the big picture and the details count.
We imagine that you:
Have 5-10 years of experience as a communications advisor - and at least 2 years from a politically led organization, think tank, ministry or similar.
Have worked in public affairs and understand media logic - you thrive on connecting politics, media and stakeholders.
A fast and precise writer with a sense of timing, tone and weight.
Can write texts and speeches that both capture and move.
Can plan and execute cross-channel communication - and isn't afraid of the grunt work when it needs to be done right.
You are structured, curious and professionally courageous - and happy to share your knowledge with others.
You think strategically, but you live for action.
In short: You are a political thinker and a practical doer. You can draw a line - and make it happen.
We are aware that the right profile may not necessarily have equal experience in public affairs and communication - but that's no obstacle. Apply anyway and we'll teach you the rest along the way.
OUR LIFTING
A flexible and inspiring workplace with high ceilings and a team of colleagues who are each among the best in their field.
A strong social community with Friday bars and community events
A work culture where we share mistakes and victories and motivate each other to take chances and push the bar of what's possible
A job that can be felt - in society.
In a nutshell: You get to use your expertise where it makes a difference - and with colleagues who are passionate about the same thing.

ABOUT INVI
Do you feel that politicians formulate lots of plans and projects, but change often fails to happen? You're far from alone in that feeling. A lot can be solved with existing tools, but if we are to be more successful in tackling complex problems, new data-driven approaches are urgently needed. This is where INVI comes in.
We customize the new toolbox for today's wicked social problems. These are problems that transcend borders and are stubborn. Just think of climate change, unhappiness or the lack of hands in the labor market. They are all wicked problems, and they often require new approaches. At the Think Tank, we work closely with ministries, municipalities, foundations and civil society to tackle the root of wicked problems - with tools we develop in collaboration with the best researchers and data scientists.
INVI's new Model for wicked Problems is one main vein in our approach to problem solving, but we're also developing a wide range of other tools to connect the front door and back door of democracy.
INVI is a think tank with an entrepreneurial spirit and high ambitions. In a short time, we have created a strong platform for change and innovation with support from foundations, public actors and civil society. We are located in The Yellow Farm in the heart of Copenhagen - a dynamic environment where collaboration and creativity are in focus.
